Learn English with Work Experience in the UK

Student gaining volunteer work experience in a UK charity shop

An English course with work experience is a great way to improve your English: you learn in class, then practise in a real situation. For example, you can spend the morning studying General English and the afternoon volunteering in a charity shop.

Mornings: English lessons

In the morning you study with other international students. Lessons cover interesting everyday topics such as food, clothes, transport and work. You'll watch videos, listen to songs, learn new vocabulary and get help with your grammar. Most of all, you'll practise speaking, so you build fluency and confidence.

Afternoons: real work experience

In the afternoon you're in a real workplace, using English to work with colleagues and sometimes customers. You may answer questions, give advice or ask colleagues for help, all in English, using the skills you learned in the morning.

Evenings: homestay life

In the evening you live with a homestay host, where you talk about everyday things, eat together and spend time together in the evenings and at weekends.

A complete experience

Together, the English course, the work experience and the homestay give you a complete way of learning English in different situations throughout the day. At weekends you can explore great cities such as London, Bristol, Cambridge and Birmingham.
