At ILC, your safety and wellbeing are our top priorities. Our Student Services Team and all staff are friendly, supportive and always available to help during your stay.
You will meet the team on your first day, and you can speak to them at any time. The Student Services Team takes particular responsibility for student welfare, but all staff are trained and ready to support students whenever needed.
If a student has a problem or emergency, they should call the 24-hour emergency number for their centre. A member of staff is always available to help. If the student is part of a group, the Group Leader will also be contacted.

All students under 18 must return to their homestay for their evening meal by 18:00.

Additional welfare information is given in the ILC Under 16 Handbook and the ILC 16 to 17 Year Old Handbook, which are shared with students before their course begins.
Students aged 16 to 17 are supervised during lessons, ILC activities, and ILC trips and excursions. Depending on the course, they may be unsupervised at the following times:

Weekend supervision depends on whether students spend time with their homestay provider, attend an ILC trip, or go out independently.
ILC activities take place daily between 15:00 and 16:00 and are fully supervised.
Students may go out in the evening with parent or guardian permission until their curfew time, and may be unsupervised during this period.
ILC takes safeguarding and child protection extremely seriously. We are committed to a safe, supportive and secure environment for all students, with clear procedures for identifying and reporting any actual or suspected harm or abuse.

Most students under 18 attend ILC as part of a school or educational group with at least one Group Leader. Separate guidance is provided for Group Leaders to help them support students and work alongside ILC staff.
