Birmingham

English Language Teacher

EFL teachers are responsible for delivering engaging English lessons which benefit teenage learners inside and outside the classroom. ILC provides coursebooks and teachers’ books which are the foundation for lesson planning and teaching. Responsibilities include:

*To teach classes according to requirements: General English of all levels, examination preparation classes(IELTS, Cambridge FCE/CAE/CPE), business English, on a group or one-to-one basis.

*To prepare lessons thoroughly using the assigned coursebook, audio and other resource materials (approx.60% coursebook/ 40% other resources). To prepare student-focused communicative lessons, monitoring and correcting students as appropriate, and setting and marking homework regularly

*To be familiar with the objectives of the course syllabus, the purpose of which is to improve our students’ linguistic ability.

*To ensure that all necessary administration linked to teaching work is completed in a timely manner and insufficient detail to include class registers (absences must be reported in accordance with the StaffHandbook), write up class record sheets fully, keep progress records (in the form of test results), keep arecord of hours worked on a timesheet, produce academic reports and fulfil any other administrative duties required by the Centre and/or the DOS or Regional Director’s stipulations.
